CEO Darran Milne featured on What Comes Next? Podcast

VividQ’s pivotal technology and presence at events has often made heads turn, and it was no different during our Co-founder and CEO Darran Milne’s latest podcast appearance.

Darran joined the team at GrantTree for the latest episode of their tech innovation podcast ‘What Comes Next?’. He discussed a range of topics from computer-generated holography (CGH) to holographic display technology and its potential applications, and his thoughts on what the future will look like upon the adoption of real-time CGH.

In his episode of ‘What Comes Next?’, Darran discusses:

  • The difference between VividQ’s technology vs. display solutions currently available on the market;
  • How VividQ has overcome key computational barriers required to allow the adoption of CGH in consumer markets.

In the digital realm of holography, dynamic holograms are achieved through modulated pixels on displays. However, this process is computationally expensive, therefore ruling it “out of bounds for any commercial application.” Darran explains “VividQ has come up with a solution: a way to compute light interference patterns in milliseconds, allowing for greater scope of adoption in consumer markets.”

Imagine an entire city filled with holograms. Yelp reviews hovering over restaurants; neighbourhoods transformed into lunar landscapes; dragons and unicorns soaring through the sky. This isn’t magic, this is the future! A future made possible by Computer-Generated Holography, and a deep tech company called VividQ. VividQ’s Co-Founder and CEO Darran Milne joins us to chat physics, the future of AR, and how holograms will change the world.
