VividQ and Mo-Sys Announce Partnership

We are excited to announce our newest partnership with Mo-Sys, an innovative designer and manufacturer of advanced camera robotics and virtual technologies for the high-end film and broadcast industry. This collaboration will integrate Mo-Sys latest tracking system with VividQ software and IP for holographic display, to accurately track and project three-dimensional virtual objects in Augmented Reality (AR) devices.
To showcase our cutting-edge software for computer-generated holography (CGH), VividQ has developed a holographic headset prototype and a set of proprietary three-dimensional experiences designed in popular game engine Unity. To further enhance the natural depth perception provided by holography, VividQ’s holographic headset prototype will be fitted with a Mo-Sys StarTracker VR, the first optical tracking solution for holographic virtual environments.
Accurate camera tracking is crucial for the long-term success of AR wearables. In current AR headsets, virtual objects are displayed on a single depth plane. This limits the interactivity within virtual environments and causes eye-strain and fatigue for many users. Holographic display, however, projects virtual scenes with a full depth of field, allowing the eye to naturally focus and defocus at different distances, just as it would in natural environments. The Mo-Sys StarTracker VR allows holographic images to be placed at the correct depth in the real world with pinpoint precision.
To create fully realistic and immersive visual experiences, users of holographic displays should see and interact with virtual objects and scenes with the same depth cues as they real objects. Using the Mo-Sys StarTracker VR system and VividQ SDK for real-time hologram calculation, we can develop the next generation of precision-based holographic AR content for applications such as gaming, filmmaking and entertainment.
